It looks like Nyx has come out with a new concealer and it really is about time. I haven’t tried it, so I want to be clear that this isn’t a review. However, if it is like the formula of the Born to Glow Foundation it should be an amazing concealer for mature skin.
I know that as we age, the discoloration and bags become more pronounced, so concealer really is an important product in your makeup bag. Many people haven’t found the “holy grail” one yet. This could possibly be it for some. So, I wanted to just get it out there, for a few reasons.
Glow isn’t a bad thing in a concealer
You would think the glow in a concealer would highlight under eye bags and discoloration, but I have found quite the opposite. It brings some glow or “life” to the undereye area.
You may need to play around with it a bit to see what placement is great for your eyes. After all, you have been working with your face a long time, you will get it pretty quickly.
What I am also excited about it is the applicator. I love this type of applicator for concealer. It makes it so easy. No warming it up with your fingers. You can place it right where you need it. Squeeze tube, you don’t have to turn it and turn it to get something to come out.
I first thought of Charlotte Tilbury, when I saw it.
What do you think? I think the packaging is quite similar. Charlotte’s products are quite beautiful, but they also have a beautiful price tag. Now I am not saying the formula is close to Charlotte’s and this is also the bronzer not the concealer. (If you are looking for a dupe to the bronzer, try looking at Beauty Pie).
Using it as a bronzer
Although Nyx formula has more glow, it does come in 24 colors so you really could find a color that matches for a bronzer quite easily (for a certain skin range). For mature skin, that may be turning a bit drier, this would be amazing.
We are supposedly going away from the really contoured look, so this would just add a bit of color. The applicator is easy for putting right on the spot you want and then blending it out.
Where to purchase and look at the colors
Most CVS, Walmart, Walgreens and some grocery stores carry NYX. Also, their online website and of course, Ulta and Target.
This concealer comes in 24 options, as stated before. It is on the Ulta website and I am unsure of how many will be carried in a store near you. However, they should have some testers (perhaps not in the right colors) for you to at least look at in the store.
My Target only carries some of the NYX products, I believe, due to the fact the Ulta is so close to my Target store. However, on Target’s website they have quite a few of the colors available and at $8.99 instead of $9.99.
If you are looking for a new concealer or bronzer this may be the one to look at for application, color selection and price point.
