I did some real damage to my scalp and hair. Real damage. Not just chemical hair damage.
About a week after my boyfriend of 7 years died, suddenly, I wasn’t exactly at my best. I decided to start a fire in the fire pit in the back yard. I wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing and the flame went way too high. It burnt my hair everywhere, but especially around the crown of the head.
First, I just used very gently shampoo, as not to hurt my already tender scalp. But that didn’t really do a good job of cleaning my hair, so luckily, I didn’t have to do that long term.
I started using the Ordinary’s Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density. It is supposed to work for making hair fuller, right now, I can’t speak to that part of it. It has help make my hair and scalp get healthier along with scalp scrubs, hair oils and hair treatments.
How to use
You just get a bit in the dropper and apply it to your scalp and massage in and all around. Pretty simple, except I wouldn’t use it in the morning. Your hair could look greasy or you have to use quite a bit of dry shampoo to make it not look greasy.
If you use it at night, you will never even know in the morning that you applied it.
It has peptides (as the name implies), lactic acid (acid from milk/dairy) and castor oil. There are a lot of different peptides in this formula, but I can’t find any studies on the peptides working on hair follicles directly.
Condition of the scalp
It has really helped with the condition of my scalp and I do have a lot of new baby hairs (which I haven’t had in quite a few years).
Most people don’t actually burn their scalp in this way and I wouldn’t recommend it.
I do know that with thinning hair, you may burn your scalp just being in the sun (sunburn). So I can say that this does help repairing damage on the scalp and your hair from that kind of thing as well.
Other things that helped my scalp
Like I said, I did use other things like Hair scrubs, I used NYM -Activated Bamboo Charcoal & Purple Moonstone Restore & Reclaim Scalp Scrub ( Hair scrub) which was very gentle and you can follow the link above to read about that scrub.
Or the new one that I am using now, Nexxus that I quite love for cleaning the scalp and keeping it healthy.
For the hair damage, I had to do more work as it grew out. It was in bad condition and I didn’t want to cut it all off. So in a future post, I will talk about repairing that damage.
